الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو التحقيق عن الوظائف التداولية للتصغير في اللغة الكردية. تبنى الباحثان نموذج براون وليفينسون للإحترام اللغوي في التحليل و المقارنة. تم جمع البيانات من خلال المقابلات والمحادثات التي تحدث بشكل طبيعي. يستخدم التصغير في اللغة الكردية كإستراتيجيات مهذبة إيجابية وسلبية على حد سواء ، بالنسبة لاستراتيجية الإحترام الإيجابية تمثل تفاعلًا وديًا وتضامنًا وتعبيرًا عن المودة والتسامح. أما بالنسبة لاستراتيجية الإحترام السلبية ، كانت تهدف إلى تقليل الفرض وتخفيف التصريحات السلبية. تظهر النتائج أنه على الرغم من الاستخدام المركزي للتصغير مع الأطفال ، إلا أن الأكراد أخذوا على عاتقهم وظائف تداولية لتقليل الفرض والتعبير عن الألفة والترابط.

ئامانج لەم توێژينەوەيە بريتيە لە لێكۆڵينەوە لە ئەركە پراگماتيكيەكانى بچووككردنەوە لە زمانى كورديدا. توێژەران مۆدێلى رێزگرتنى زمانەوانى (بڕاون و ليڤنسن) ى گرتوەتەبەر بۆ بەدەستهێنانى ئەنجامەكان. داتاكان لە رێگەى ئەو چاوپێكەوتن و گفتوگۆيانە بەدەستهاتوون كە بە شێوەيەكى سروشتى روويانداوە. بچووككردنەوە لە زمانى كورديدا بۆ هەردوو ستراتيژەكانى رێزگرتنى ئەرێنى و نەرێنى بەكاردێت، سەبارەت بە ستراتيژى رێزگرتنى ئەرێنى، هاورێيەتى و خۆشەويستى و لێبوردەيى نيشان دەدات، بەڵام سەبارەت بە ستراتيژى رێزگرتنى نەرێنى، ئامانج لێى كەمكردنەوەى خۆسەپاندن ونەرمتركردنى وتەى نەرێنيە. دەرئەنجامەكان ئەوە نيشان دەدەن كە سەرەڕاى ئەوەى بەكارهێنانى سەرەكى بچووككردنەوە بۆ منداڵانە، بەڵام كورد ئەركى پراگماتيكى پێدەدەن بە مەبەستى كەمكردنەوەى خۆسەپاندن و گوزارشتكردن لە خۆشەويستى و پەيوەندى دۆستانە.
