Factors Directed Gender-Based Violence Against Women: Garmian Administration as a Model

The research deals with the study of the factors that direct gender-based violence against women within the family in the cities of the Garmian administration, where the factors are classified into subjective factors related to the spouses and other objective societal factors that include cultural, social, religious, and political and administrative factors. The researcher adopts the descriptive analytical approach in studying the research problem by defining the research community in the cities of the Garmian administration and the research sample with sixteen men and women within the research community.
Among the main results of the research, the most common and practiced patterns of gender-based violence against women within the family in the cities of the Garmian administration are psychological violence and social violence related to women's movement, followed by economic violence. Both the understanding and the level of awareness of the spouses are considered among the most important subjective factors influencing the direction of gender-based violence. The cultural factor is one of the most influential factors in directing gender-based violence against women within the family in the cities of the Garmian administration.
