The influence of different beliefs on burial during the Parthian state (247 B. C -226 C.)

The Parthian period is considered to be a multi-religious era, with many religions influencing the population of different regions under their rule. In this paper we will try to highlight the influence of religions on burial practices and the most important of these different types of burial in the Parthian Empire. The introduction to the study generally discusses the power, geographical location and expansion of the Parthians. The content of the study is divided into two parts. The first chapter attempts to explain the religious aspects and differences of beliefs of the Parthians through the burial methods of their dead and other evidence of that period in the different areas under their jurisdiction. The use of different kinds of coffins was one of the most important traditions of that time, mostly for the ruling class and the dynasties of the regions, while the burial pits and pithoi were mostly used for ordinary people. All the methods are explained with pictures.
